- אחוונא
- אַחְוָונָאm. (v. אַחְוָא) 1) meadow-grass, grass (as fodder). Y.Ber.VI, 10a, bot. 2) willow-twigs used for kindling, kindling wood. Sabb.20a (explain, אָח Jer. 36:23; v. אַחֲוָה 1, end) אַחְוָונָא (Var. אַחְוָנָא) willowfire. Ib. one cried מאן בעי א׳וכ׳ who wants Aḥvana?, and it was found he had willow twigs for sale. 3) willow-bast, Ib. 20b explaining אִידָּן; Ms. M. (ed. אחוינא, אחווינא).
